Greetings,

I've got some time this evening before the Christmas party, so I figured I'd spread some christmas cheer, and sit down with you chaps, read you a story.

Not really. But I do have some things I like to write about, and hopefully have you read.

Minecraft videos are going up on the channel every once in a while, mostly because you hungry little buggers just love Minecraft content. I figured that I shouldn't get left behind when everyones jumping on the Minecraft bandwagon. Though I must say, the game is really fantastic, even in Alpha stage. Not alot of developers can say that about their games.

The significance placed on Survival is one of the deepest I've seen it videogames, yet it plays out so simply at first. You really have to play the game to really capture the feeling of it. It's unlike anything I've played in a long time. You know what else? This is an INDIE GAME.

Developers, watch Minecraft and watch it closely. Take notes. It's obviously working.

Aside from those little tidbits of Minecraft going up on my channel, I'm slamming down production on Forge 101, my newest kick into Halo Reach's Forge mode. As some of you early followers know about me and my channel, it all started out with Forge. It's the heart of our love for Halo.

We're returning to those roots, because it's what you asked for. We want the community of Halo to once again experience the magic of custom game nights in Halo 3, but in Halo Reach.We want people to make amazing maps, and bring back the fun that was long weekends of silly infection gametypes.

I'm in talks with the content producers at Machinima about featuring this series, much like alot of my content. I want people to watch this, and I want them inspired to make maps. The goal of this series is to show how simple it is, step by step, on how to create maps for certain gametypes, and give you EXACTLY the tools you need, to get you started.

I love this community, and I'm grateful for the love I've received concerning my work in Forge. Rest assured, if you love content creation, or even if you love Halo, this series should hit a warm spot. Check out the promo video below:

Tommorrow, I'll be leaving from Charlotte, North Carolina to LA California. I'll be attending the Inside Gaming Awards hosted by Machinima.com.

I get to hang out with the machinima staff, including your favorites like Seananners, Hutch, Sark, DeadPixel, Khail, Rob Talbert, Matt Dannevik, the whole crew.

Maybe you've heard of a little indie game with this title?

If you have, you know how insanely addicting it is. I've poured a solid 9 hours into the game, have 2 worlds, and alot of exploring left to do.

I've found a ton of underground caves as well. I even have a hole to keep all my farm animals.

Okay, that last one's a bit creepy, but still. It's great.

Forge 101

Production will begin on Forge 101 over the holidays. It will explode onto your computers and internet capable devices, beginning in December-January.

We know it's a bit of a wait, but we want to have several episodes under our belt, to release to machinima.com, that way, they can be released once a week, for several weeks.

That way, all of your forging needs can be satisfied.

In addition to that, Forge 101 will give us a solid series to stand on, when the time for that comes. We've been making random stuff for years now, and feel it's time to solidify our desires, and make a series that we can happily exclaim to our viewers.

Seeing as how our largest videos ever were the Forge and Halo tutorials from 2008, we feel this is a step in just the right direction.

Just spent the past several hours watching the entire 5th Season of Red vs Blue.

Have to say that buying the HD box set was the best decision ever. Go buy it if your a Red vs Blue fan. Also, the recollection DVD is great, which is the 3 seasons shot in Halo 3.

It's 12:20 am, and officially tomorrow....or today.
I'm not sure.

Either way, I felt like writing a blog post, seeing as how I don't write in it all that often.

Over the past couple of months, as I've grown more and more busy, and lost more and more time, I've felt that I've had very little passion for machinima. Don't get me wrong, I still love it, I just think that the last few months of classes and work have made it difficult to brainstorm new machinima.

Sure, I've created some video content for Black Ops, Reach, and New Vegas, but that's really just a good way of helping machinima.com's game play community grow, seeing as how you kids love that stuff.

In reality, I've made very few actual "machinima's".

As of this moment, I'm in the middle of creating two machinima's. One is a small production, one is a slightly larger production.

I'm not talking about them now, but one's a short burst of dumb humor you've grown to love, and the other is my most ambitious attempt at machinima ever.

If it comes out successful, I'll be happy if it's the last machinima I ever made. BUT hopefully it won't.

I'm going to try some old stuff too. Forge stuff. If you guys watch it, I'll keep making it.
I love making Forge videos. I'll see how it goes.

Hello there. How have you been?

Me? Swell.
College is really hard.

To be honest, that's really what's kept me from doing videos for some time now. Sure, I've had an unboxing here, a gameplay commentary over there, but you know, those aren't my cup of tea.

Machinima, on the other hand, is. I've been quite busy, trying to do well in school, get some work done, and continue Half Marathon training in the meantime. I am dissapointed in my lack of free time, which could add up to some great machinima's being produced, by I'm making the best of it.

How might you ask? Well, I'm starting a new series, "Fall of Reach."
Some might call this a campaign machinima. And thats because it is.

Fall of Reach has a simple concept, but IS ON A MASSIVE SCALE. If you like action, and you like machinima, then you'll like this.

It'll be featured with Machinima.com as usual, so keep your heads up for that one. For more actual updates, follow me on twitter. I post daily there, usually multiple times.

Sitting in programming class at Univeristy of North Carolina at Charlotte. Oh college, it's a love hate relationship, but it's freaking great.

Anyway, on to the blog post!

I, like many of you are excited for Halo Reach and the many sleepless nights it entails. Trust me, it's going to be great. But as for news that pertains to OptimumForge as a company, we've got interesting things happening. MegaGamerNews is starting to gain traction in the media industry and we're super excited about that. In addition to that, we've been changing up the look of the MGN website. We were getting bored with the bright "all white" look, so we're messing with the CSS.

We'll give you more details as they come along, but for now, keep checking out our youtube channel for some Halo Reach surprises...specifically September 10-14.

Coming to a Realization.

YouTube is not the beautiful thing it once was. Back in the days of it's youth when children made accounts that separated themselves from others, and let them stand on a pedestal and say, "I'm different, I'm creative".

And now...it's not at all like that.

Trolling, Subscribers, view count, non-originality, copyright infringement, liking, disliking, meaningless comments.
This is what YouTube has become. It has evolved into a muck of disgusting 12 year old trolls obsessed with getting their comments "thumbed up" to get attention, and obsessively begging for subscribers, as if it's currency. Another thing that bothers me, Sub4sub accounts. These utterly pointless wastes of space do nothing more than please the minds of youth who die for subscribers, for no absolute reason.

Let's get this clear. Subscribers are NOT money. They don't show how good you are. They're only a count of people that enjoy your content, and like watching your videos. You shouldn't ever ask anyone to subscribe, you should be content that individuals subscribe to your channel by free will. That's what makes it worth it.

Look at PhillipDefranco's channel. He has countless subscribers, because he earned them. Myself, I have under 4,000 subscribers, pretty small in comparison to other vloggers out there, but you know what? I didn't SUB4SUB, I didn't demand people to subscribe. I just made my content, and went from there.

It's not about thumbing up your comments, it's not about trolling, it's not about subscribers, it's about great content, and what separates you from all the rest.

I'll keep doing what I'm doing. Subscribers or not.

100th Blog Post! Time to celebrate?

Hey everyone,

It's our 100th Blog Post! This post marks the 100th time we've sat in our chair to update you on our current happenings, which is usually nothing!

WE DID IT BOYS. We did it.

Just kidding of course, we've been hard at work, and it's essentially (nearly) our 2 year anniversary! We're not sure whether or not to base the anniversary date on when the channel opened, or when we first made a machinima, or when our first video when up on Machinima.com. I think we'll go with when our first video went up, but unfortunately we deleted that when it went up on Machinima's youtube : / (How To Lower Weapons in Halo 3).

Remember this?!? My favorite machinima I ever made.

Either way, we're super happy here at OFP. We're expanding, we're working, and balancing college at the same time.

There's so much going on at OptimumForge it's reached a level of insanity.

We're publishing MegaGamerNews Daily.
We're posting to twitter.
We're scripting videos.
We're working on countdown videos for Halo Reach, COD: Black Ops, and Fallout New Vegas for Machinima.com.

But one thing we've accomplished, is getting our site recognized as an official media outlet for conferences like E3, Comic-Con and PAX.

What does this mean? Well, we've been to some of these shows, and we've received press badges to give you behind the scenes information on the newest games and hardware.

We're able to attain these badges due to the amount of expansion OFP has had here. In fact the overall name for the company is OptimumForge Media, which encompasses Machinima, Community, and News.

Machinima. Community. News.

Here's the breakdown of what each division does:

OptimumForge Productions: The old OFP you know and love, still here, still making machinima.
MegaGamerNews: The news blog where we pump out articles and daily news to our readers(game news).
OptimumForge.com: The community fansite containing forums, as well as additional news articles for readers about the newest games.

Nothing's changing in the machinima department, mind you. We still love it, and we have no plans on leaving it any time soon.

It's friday, August 7th 2010. I haven't posted an update in weeks. But now that my summer internship is winding to a close, it's back to work, work, work. And to be clear, work consists of studying, machinima, and a ton of Ultimate Frisbee.

On to more important news, Halo Reach has been dumping information on Halo Reach like it's nobody's business. I'm pumped for every aspect of that game, so much so that I'm getting the legendary edition. I just feel that with Reach being Bungie's last Halo game, I want to commemorate that.

Moving on from there, I've received my media badge for PAX Prime in Seattle, and now I'm deciding if I have the money to go or not. Planes and hotels cost money peeps.

Also, I've made some sweet new HD wallpapers for Halo Reach. *Note that these were "inspired" by Bungie's most recent weekly update, and they might be forklift related.

Welcome friends. We've missed you.

Many viewers have been asking me what we've been up to, and where the machinima is. Well in answer to the first question, we are still here. We're still working on some videos and whatnot. Welcome to the new and improved OptimumForge Productions Blog. Here you can find my latest updates on machinima and my other projects.

Now, as you may have noticed, there is a new, cleaner logo up on top. Well, I've finally figured out photoshop, so it was nice to make something nicer looking and worthwhile.

Also, we have a new blog, MegaGamer News. On this blog, totally seperate from machinima, we will be posting news articles mutliple times daily. Preparing For PAX East

The eastern edition of the Penny Arcade Expo this year is going to be one of the biggest gaming/electronics events of 2010, and I've got a lot of packing and planning to do.

Things to do in preparation:

Make my itinerary.
Pack Clothes.
Pack Camera and Audio Equipment.
Prepare interview questions for developers.

So far I've completed the majority of these things.
I'll continually update you guys on the events as they happen, when they happen.

Redemption Episode II, Pokemon a phenomenon (AGAIN)

HEY GUYS!

Redemption episode II is done. And episode 1 isn't even out yet, I KNOW. It's machinima going through some processing errors right now, but they'll be resolved soon. Once ep1 is out, I'll release episode 2 after a week. I though episode 1 was good, you'll hopefully be hooked on episode 2.

On to other things, Pokemon is a phenomenon, again. Honestly, I haven't played the game series that consumed my childhood since I was, well, a child.

But at my school and senior class, Pokemon is coming back. Everyone is breaking out their old Game Boy Colors and Advance SP's and having at it.

Myself, I rocked it old school with the Pokemon special edition yellow game boy color. But that's been gone A LONG time,so I'm buying and Advance SP on the cheap from a friend, complete with YELLOW and Silver editions of pokemon.

I'm a happy man.

Redemption Episode 1 is PASSED!!! It's taken over a month, but It's going up next week! I'll post a link ASAP.

Just Cause 2, you must buy this game. It's just so well done. The mechanics, the freedom, the graphics, it's great.

The shooting might not be perfect, but it's alot more manageable than other 3rd person shooters.

Oh, and did I mention over 100 unique vehicles? This includes Tanks, Jeeps, Jets, Helicopters, Motor bikes, ATV's, boats, and more.

Also, got a glance at the new Halo Reach MP Beta. OMG. The beta is going to rock people's socks off.

MW2 Hacks Galore

This. This is the problem with the gaming community.

Now don't get me wrong. I love using the occasional glitch to miff people off, such as the care package running glitch in MW2, or the trick jumping in Halo, but hackers, they're an epidemic.

They're ruining the game. That's there whole intent and objective, to ruin other peoples fun and their day.

People are hacking the matchmaking and making kills count for NEGATIVe -500,000 exp, resulting in setting you back to LEVEL 1. All you worked for gone.

Infinity Ward is supposedly working on a fix for this problem.

This is probably a record for me. This is definitely the longest I've had to edit a video. I've been at it for 3 days, and I'm still not done. I won't stop until I think it's 5 star worthy, hopefully you'll think so as well.

The thermal scene is done, the action scene is done. All that's left is to finish 3 lines of voice acting, put those in, and color the whole dang movie. That's right, Imma put some colorific flair on this series.

I'll try to have it submitted by this weekend so that you can watch it by tuesday. I'll be gone for a week on a trip to Tennessee.

When I get back, I'll be doing ANOTHER video. But I'll take a break from this series to work on a short.

Hey Party People.

The Holidays are over and it's back to our jobs and schools. The execs over at machinima.com have been working hard and pumping out some sweet videos. I have also been hard at work. The next big music title from Harmonix.

December 12, 2009 - The Beatles appear to be only be the first of many band-centric music titles fans can expect to be released by MTV/Harmonix. A new teaser trailer released today points to punk rock group Green Day as being the next band to receive this special treatment.

The trailer highlights the band playing their hit single "American Idiot," while showcasing vocalist Billie Joe Armstrong, bassist Mike Dirnt, and drummer Tre Cool fully modeled in the game.

No other details were given, so we're not quite sure if this will be a full Green Day-themed retail title, or just an extensive download pack with playable avatars.

Singer Billie Joel hinted at a full Green Day game earlier this year on KROQ 106.7 FM, however.

We're likely to have more information soon. IGN has contacted MTV for additional details.

Update: During Spike TV's Video Game Award Show, the band made an official announcement of the title. "We're making a videogame," said Mike Dirnt. He added the title is coming "next year" and will feature the band's favorite "songs, venues, and imagery."

Well hello there.

I'm at school, on my mac. Nothing quite to do but sleep, blog, and watch machinima. That aside, as you may have heard, "How To Fly Forever in GTA: The Ballad Of Gay Tony, is very popular around YouTube so far! It's received over 20,000 hits in less than a day! That's phenomenal by my standards, but standing toe to toe with the "Rocket Ship" and "Lowering Weapons" glitch videos (300,000+ views each), it pails in comparison.

Super Minisodes. The film I love the very most. It released on my channel, but that was before I joined the ranks of Machinima.com's director circle.

That's all changing.

In a week or so, you'll see a promo featured on Machinima.com's channel.
This promo...will be for Super Minisodes: Director's Cut. This episodes is the SAME skits you know and love, but with more flavor. Some of the weaker lines have been re-done, and more effects have been added, to add a sense of professionalism.

OH, and one more thing.

Super Minisodes 2, is in Pre-production.
